Early in discovering of my love of abstract photography, boats were one of the first things I identified as a rich source of subject matter. Every boat is unique, each portraying its own character and elements of visual interest. What I love most about boat hull abstractions is how they can be so reminiscent of the sea itself.
Abstract photograph made at the National Railway Museum, York, England. Features strong, minimalist graphics with a white horizontal bar across the bottom third of the frame, overlaid on a field of blue and indigo hues which is punctuated with very subtle textural details. Looking closely, fine details become visible, including metal welds and the head of a bolt in addition to handwritten numerals—the meanings of which remain unclear. Prints of this image are available in any size and on any material. Also available as hand-embellished Limited Original on canvas.
