“I’m a believer that there is great beauty in simplicity. Nat Coalson’s abstract photography and art are great examples of such beauty. With sharp tones and colours, Nat Coalson’s art adds that finishing touch to any room. Large or small, his pieces are compelling and calming at the same time.” –Diane Paz, 1point0 Design, Toronto, Canada

“After putting a deposit on a pre-construction Frisco, Colorado condo that we planned to use as our family’s second home, I went looking for artwork to hang on the walls. When I came across Nat’s website, I stopped looking. Using the floor plan as a jumping off point, Nat helped me put together a selection of photographs focusing on Colorado scenes to display through the unit. He then coordinated the sizing, framing and mounting, and I assembled the works together as a Christmas present for my wife. She loved the pictures on Christmas morning, and now that the condo is done and the works are hanging on the walls, we’re happier still. Seeing the collected works hanging all around the place reminds us of the mountains we love and brings a sense of coherence to the decor. Nat was extremely helpful putting it all together, and we’ll enjoy his work for years to come.”–Brian Steele, Denver and Frisco, Colorado
“I’ve known Nat for many years and shot extensively throughout the western US with him. When moving to a new home my wife and I wanted to create a more modern and yet natural and organic atmosphere. Nat’s environmental abstracts were the perfect blend of light, color, and composition that brought warmth into our home and create an interesting point of conversation when we have guests.” –Mark Ferguson, Boulder, Colorado, USA

“We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Overall, the trip was a ‘10’. The locations, logistics, lodging, food, transportation, support, etc. were all superb. We saw places (and entire regions) that we would not likely have found on our own and we both feel like we’ve had a more genuine experience than would be typical of a “tour” or traditional photo workshop. You did a wonderful job—I’m pleased with the images I made and feel like it was an excellent way to jump-start my photography. You can definitely count on our participation in future trips, whether in Italy, the British Isles or elsewhere.” – Ron Cooper, Englewood, Colorado
“This was unquestionably the best workshop I have attended. An almost perfect balance between shooting and image processing/critique, the workshop covered the entire photographic workflow, from pre-visualization to final image critique. I was also impressed with the generous one-on-one time Nat provided during the shoots. The suggestions and immediate feedback really made me think about exactly what I needed to do to achieve my vision. Highly recommended!” – Dan Gerth, Santa Fe, New Mexico
“This has been an amazing photographic summer for me. I had the good fortune to meet and work with Nat Coalson… need I say more? Not one, but two really wonderful location workshops in Colorado and Wyoming. Absolutely unbelievable! Nat’s relaxed style and generous spirit made both workshops wonderful experiences. I have to admit I’m a workshop junkie, but these two were particularly meaningful for me. For one thing, I learned some technical tips that have made a world of difference. But most importantly, Nat’s willingness to listen and respond to my lamenting over photographer’s block has been a turning point for me. Nat, thank you thank you thank you for reminding me again and again about photographing with intention! I am starting to get it! I’m looking forward to working with you again soon!” – Vicki Tillard, Douglas, Wyoming
“I have taken several photographic workshops over the past few years and have found the ones that I took with Nat Coalson to be the best. Nat is very knowledgeable, has a great feel for the camera and post-production (Photoshop and Lightroom) and is inspirational in spurring you on to reach greater goals and to learn more about photography (and to enjoy it). On one outing, I was stuck and just couldn’t figure out what to shoot. Nat gave me a personal assignment on the spot which opened up a whole new photographic vision for me. And on top of all this, Nat is just a great guy with a terrific sense of humor.” – Frank Damon, Pacific Palisades, CA
“Many thanks for all the tips you provided during the workshop. I was on the low end of the spectrum in terms of knowledge/experience but you were so patient and helpful. I’m thrilled with my pictures. I learned so much and simply loved the experience. I’m already planning on your workshop next year. Again, thanks so much for everything and best of luck to you.” – Harry Goodman, Lancaster, Pennsylvania
“I wanted to send you a note of thanks for an excellent workshop! It took a lot of research and effort on your part to plan and you were very adaptive to make changes when the weather did not cooperate. Both my compositional eye and technique improved very noticeably from your instruction and the opportunity afforded by the intensity of the shooting schedule, as well as the opportunity to learn more about post-processing. I was visualizing as I composed the shots how they would later look after post-processing. This has also improved. The group of enthusiastic participants freely shared their knowledge and results and were enjoyable to be with. The workshop allowed me to fully experience ‘the moment.’ I look forward to joining you again!” – Tom Tenenbaum, Parker, Colorado
“As a non-photographer, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated you both arranging to make sure that there was a great deal for us to see and do and most of the time still be with our photographer partners. I particularly enjoyed the town tours, sights, background and history explanations of the wineries – of course, the tastings, and the lunches served with the winery tours. The transportation was first rate, restful but not tiring in length. The local guides were also wonderful. The restaurants were local and non-touristy and, being a personal chef, I was very happy to be dining on true local cuisine. All in all, an enjoyable trip, well planned and accompanied by knowledgeable and fun tour leaders. Thanks very much!” – Brenda Tenenbaum, Parker, Colorado
“Nat is a very patient, well spoken, educated person; he has a great vocabulary and truly knows (in this case) Lightroom inside and out and can present information in an easy-to-grasp way. He is more than just a lecturer, he is a real teacher.” – Jock Goodman, Waimea, Hawaii
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the personal photography sessions I have had with Nat. Not only is he personable but knowledgeable in the field of photography. He adapts very well to all skill levels in a group and makes sure he pays attention to the matters or questions at hand. I learned a lot about my own ‘eye’ and style when I was able to print off shots from a previous session and have him critique them at our next session. Thanks, Nat! We will definitely see you again.” – Chanel Podell, Denver, Colorado

“My husband and I have just completed our third photo tour in two years with Nat and his charming wife, Ruth. I have been an artist for 20 years, participated in many workshops in the U.S. and Europe. The time with Nat has been a game changer. Becoming a better photographer has made me a more interesting painter. As artists, we are always trying to keep our work fresh and unpredictable and that means always seeking a better, clearer way of seeing. Nat, being the patient and perceptive teacher he is, has a way of leading you to look more carefully for the extraordinary amid the ordinary. He also carefully orchestrated our trips to offer us the most promising possibilities for our photos with just the right mix of flexibility and structure. When you are lost and lazy he gives you a nudge and when you are “rocking ” he gets out of your way. All-in-all he is one of the best artists I know for inspiration, vision, growth and helping you capture all things beautiful. Thank you, Nat.” – Teri Gortmaker, Boulder, Colorado
