I grew up in Colorado—in the mountains I feel most at home. This series contains a collection of pictures that expresses my earliest calling as a photographer. Many of these majestic peaks are in the Rocky Mountains, but some are on the other side of the planet in such far-flung places as New Zealand. I'm fascinated by the way a landform can have a personality, one that changes dramatically with the light and atmosphere. A mountain range is a fickle photographic subject with its aesthetic appeal entirely dependent on conditions that change moment to moment. This continual challenge is one of the most compelling aspects of landscape photography that keeps me hooked.
