Finding beauty in unexpected places is one of the great joys of my photographic practice. The intricate, detailed images in this series are relatively lighter in tone, punctuated by darker accents which lead the eye around the frame in a game of tag… or is it hide-and-seek? I find this kind of photography immensely enjoyable and playful, even as the removal of colour creates a more serious statement. This is urban abstraction at its purest.
