Dark Adhesion

Monochrome can greatly aid the creation of abstract photography. By subtracting colour, we end up creating images much different than how we normally see the world. Over many years, I have explored urban environments to discover striking, bold imagery tucked away in overlooked corners of the built environment. This series of images is about shape, tonal contrast, texture and pattern, resulting in the expression of rich tapestries of visual activity and energy. The low-key tonal range creates a heaviness, depth and solidity while the lighter elements dance in layers over the top.
