It wasn't until I began seriously practicing photography that I discovered the deep beauty and endless mystique of the desert. There is truly something spiritual, magical, about these remote locations. The quiet solitude, the interplay of light on the landscape, the feeling of being at one with nature is strongest in the desert. I made these photographs at various locations around the American west, including Utah, Arizona, California and New Mexico. The images depict scenes that I felt very fortunate to witness, let alone capture… glimpses of timeless beauty which we can only witness momentarily and infrequently yet persist long after we are gone.
